| Guys Gateway International Raceway held a Midnight Madness 'grudge-racing' type night on friday. The whole thing centered around the fact they were running no tree, no times, and no timeslips. A flagger simply staged you, flagged you, and then the boards at the end of the track only flashed who reached the end quicker. Unfortunately I didnt get any times, but if I was to get, the car is hovering the 10.9-11.0 mark by the way it ran along side a few other cars. I got my first run in around 1AM, pulled up to the line, did my burnout, and tookoff down the track. The car instantly went lean under boost, and I just coasted down the track. I was thinking maybe I had some type of boost leak, but that didnt make any sense, so i checked the fuel pressure guage and it was pretty low. Knowing recently that I had upgraded to dual fuel pumps, the issue must be related to that. I hopped in the back of the car in the pit area and tore the fuel pump assembly out. Sure enough, one of the 5/16" Fuel Lines had ruptured. The fuel pumps were sucking fuel up, but at the burst, it was pissing all the fuel back into the tank, lol. I had my patented 'rebuild' kit with me, so I sliced off some new fuel hose, and fixed the kit all up. I fired the car up and all was wel in fuel pressure land. My 2nd run was actually worthy of taping. I was staged to go up against some dually with dual-stacks. Nothing impressive, however the owner approached me and asked me to go ahead of him, because he didnt want to race against this 'drag' mustang. I said sure, I'm not looking to win or anything, just wanted to get a good feel of the car and make some good passes. I talked to the owner, after the run. The car runs consisten 10.2's. I didnt get a trap speed out of him however. The thing was setting on the ground, tubbed out, big block, and loud as hell. You can definately hear it over my car in the videos. After talking with him, he told me he runs consistent 10.6's off the juice. I actually got an even start with him this time, and we were really even. Unfortunately My g/f's camera (grandstand view) ran out of memory. My camera shut itsself off due to battery for the In-Car view.... Here is the Grandstand view of me vs the 10.6 Nova again. The video cuts off 1/2 way through. [ http://booztd3.com/Videos/Mevs10.6_Nova_Cutoff ] The last pass of the night was me vs a 1JZ MKIII Supra. The owner was really nice, and the car was virtually stock. There's no grand-stand footage, just In-Car. [ http://booztd3.com/Videos/In-Car_vs_1JZ_Supra.wmv ] All in all it was a great night, aside from the fuel pump issue. It was really an uplifting feeling, knowing that I drove 2 hours to the track, took tire pressure down to 15psi, and drove it on to the track. At 3AM when the event was over, I simply filled tire pressure back up, and drove home. There were alot of people impressed with the car, and that definately put a smile on my face. I'm really excited to get some race gas, more boost, and added timing in the car and go get some slips. Thanks for looking
